1b. Aftermarket Head Unit Installation-

  • If after market head unit option is chosen for your bundle, we'll attach the necessary conversion harnesses and RCA extensions to reach your head unit RCA sub out ports.  We'll also attach the bullet connectors to attach to the blue amp on wire at the back of your head unit.

2. Power, Ground, and Bass Remote

  • Refer to video for remaining power, ground, and bass remote.

4. Power Setting on Hideaway-

  • If you're installing to your stock radio using the speaker wires as per the video:
    • Auto Turn on- Choose DC option
  • If you're installing to an aftermarket head unit using the provided RCA harness:
    • Auto Turn on- Choose 120v option.

These tips above are intended to be used in conjunction with our full installation video below:

    Hideaway Settings:

    Auto Turn On:
Set to DC when connecting using speaker wire T-taps, Set to +12V when using a LOC from the radio.
    Input Level:
Set to HI when using RCA's for signal source, Set to LO when using speaker wire T-Taps.
    Phase:
Neither 0 or 180 is absolute correct.  Whichever sounds louder/ fuller to you is best.
    Bass Boost:
This feature enhances bass frequencies, particularly for older music recordings.  Use this with caution as this is the leading cause to blowing the subwoofer.  We suggest a very low setting for this option.
    X-Over Freq:
    Set around 9 O'Clock
    Gain Levels:
Set gain to 0 and radio levels to 0. Gradually increase volume to 75% max.  Increase gain slowly until slight distortion is noticed, then lower gain slightly.

Congratulations, you’re ready to enjoy your new Kicker Powered Subwoofer tunes!
