Not what I thought.

"well, there were no directions so after some time on the web I realized that this did not go on the grill to protect the speakers from dust and water and that this was for behind the speakers and around the speakers so how does this keep out dust and water. so, seeing that there was no way of putting this in the well that the speakers were in, I attached it around the rear of the speaker creating an encloser on the back of the speakers and then installed them. this created more base and had to set it a 1/4 and it was a nice smooth sound."
